Activities

The Foundation will support research projects on collaborations, and practical educational projects. At this stage we'd be interested in esearch projects in the following areas:

  • Social science, political science, ethnology, psychology, economy, around topics like what makes people work well together, what motivates them to contribute, what are the driving forces behind collaboration in a social network, etc.
  • Information Technology, Internet with subjects around privacy issues when dispersing personal data, security, Human Factors in Social networks.

We defined a certain number of "grand challenges" pertinent to our goals, these challenges cover : Access Devices, Content and working with communities.

The educational projects that are of  particularly interest to us are all projects reaching out to “hard to reach human groups” and projects that expand our capacity to experiment (think about fab@home and similar projects.)

Our goal is not to fully fund any research group or project, but to provide technical assistance, infrastructure, expertise, networking and in some case funds.

If you have a project that you think could interest us, and you would like to collaborate drop a note to the contact person in your area.
